This Friday it became known that the Helly Nahmad gallery sold the “Mousquetaire et Femme a la Fleur” by renowned artist Pablo Picasso for around $ 20 million during the private preview of Art Basel Miami Beach last Tuesday.

The organizers of the event, Artsy reported this Thursday that it was the highest-priced sale of the fair so far this year. The last day is from 11 am to 6 pm today Saturday, according to Local10.

In 2008, Christie’s sold the oil on canvas for around $ 9 million during an auction. The provenance was descended from the Paris artist who sold it to the Pace Wildenstein Gallery in New York in 1999.

It should be noted that this work, Picasso painted it about six years after marrying Jacqueline Roque and moving to Mougins, the commune of France where he died in 1973. Until now, the Helly Nahmad gallery did not reveal the identity of the buyer.
