La Macarena, the 1996 hit that set the world dancing with her iconic choreography, is back in the latest video from Vogue Magazine’s Spring 2022 collection .

Through its web portal, the renowned fashion magazine announced that the popular song returns “with a visual feast of clothes with a Y2K mentality with the best models”, accompanied by the artist Bad Bunny.

Despite his appearance, the Puerto Rican did not add any verse to the original song of the group Los Del Rio. He decided to fully respect the lyrics as he was a music icon.

Before Tik Tok

The original version by Antonio Romero Monge and Rafael Ruiz spent more than 14 weeks in the top 100 of the most listened to worldwide.

“Before the TikTok dances, there was the« Macarena «. It was played at all school dances, Bar Mitzvahs, graduations and birthdays in the late 1990s and early 2000s, ”the magazine reported.

And it is that the choreography with simple steps concentrates all the characteristics that would easily make it a trend.

“I feel like ‘Macarena’ ties in more culturally with the TikTok dance trend phenomenon,” said video director Bardia Zeinali.
