Early Friday morning a fire broke out on the top floor of a building in Fort Lauderdale, in which one man died and another was injured by the flames, after being rescued he was taken to the nearest medical center.
The fire broke out at the Ocean Summit Condominium along the 400 block of Galt Ocean Drive early Friday morning.
According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the ninth and tenth floors were evacuated.
“They got to the area of origin of the fire, went into that apartment and were able to put the fire out immediately,” said Stephen Gollan, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Battalion Battalion chief. “Unfortunately, the person residing in that apartment succumbed to injuries from the fire. There was another adult male who was in the apartment at the time of the fire. He was able to get out,” so reported 7 NEWS.
So far the cause of the fire is unknown, investigations continue.
