The Miami Police published a curious recruitment video that has gone viral on social networks, and has caused the admiration of many people.

“It is the most EPIC recruiting video we have EVER done,” reads the message attached to the video that was shared on the Miami Police Department’s social media.

The video begins with two uniformed officers atop a Miami skyscraper. One of the officers says, “The boss wants us to make a video to announce that we are hiring,” removing the lining from a DJ player. “We are in Miami, we are going to do it Miami style,” he adds.

The other officer responds that he likes the idea, while he approaches the railing and they contemplate the city. Then a remix of Rick Astley’s’ 80s classic Never Gonna Give You Up begins to play.

The images show officers working on Calle Ocho, Wynwood, Brickell and downtown Miami. Then residents talk about the work of the agents and thank them for their work every day for the well-being of the city.

“When something happens in the city, the Miami police are the first to arrive. And for that, for me they are heroes. Instead of walking away from danger, they face it, ”says one woman.

The audiovisual shows all the Miami Police units where jobs are available: units on land, sea and air, as well as positions in air patrols, the SWAT Team, K-9 Canine Units, the Anti-Explosive Team and others.

The video of more than 4 minutes culminates with an invitation to people to join the department.

Notably, there is currently no permanent chief of police. Earlier this month, Miami commissioners unanimously voted to fire Police Chief Art Acevedo just six months after taking office.

Currently, Manny Morales, Assistant Chief, is the Acting Police Director. Now that the video has been released, the department will begin accepting applications for police officers on the 1st. of November.
