The Miami Dolphins did not rest on their laurels and continue to put together a coaching staff that is consistent with the needs they will have, for the 2022-2023 season of the National Football League (NFL). This was reported by journalists, David Lang, from the Local10 web portal.

The head coach of the cetacean group would have announced the hiring of Frank Smith, as the new offensive coordinator for the next harvest.

Smith held the position of ground coordinator for the Los Angeles Charges . He also served as the offensive lines coach.

New Miami Dolphins coordinator with experience

The 40-year-old Smith already has experience on the technical side in the NFL and that’s why McDaniel wanted him on his staff.

The team’s new offensive coordinator who is in South Florida worked as an assistant with the Los Angeles Raiders between the 2018-2020 seasons.

In addition, he has had experience with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints squads, so he will be a key point for the Miami Dolphins who had problems on the offensive side last season, after the injuries of their quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The team still has several positions to define

The Miami Dolphins still have two or three key positions to define in order to have their full coaching staff for the next season, in the NFL, which will begin in September, but they are already working to arrive ready for that date:

Those positions are quarterbacks coach (if Charlie Frye is replaced), defensive coach (Gerald Alexander was not retained) and linebackers director (Rob Leonard will do the same job with the Baltimore Ravens).

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins defensive coaching staff will have four coaches who were part of Brian Flores’ staff in the 2021-2022 NFL campaign.
