Miami Gardens remodels Lake Stevens Park

Miami-Dade Parks breaks ground on improvements to Lake Stevens Park , beginning with a new splash pad project that opens Tuesday, January 25 at 10 a.m.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniella Levine Cava, the Vice President of the Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners and Commissioner of District 1, Oliver G. Gilbert III, and the Director of Parks of Dade County, Maria I. Nardi.

The construction of a new splash pad, walkways, and landscaping improvements will help bring children and families from nearby neighborhoods together in fun and engaging ways that promote a healthy, active lifestyle and foster a greater love of the outdoors.

The park enhancement project includes a 1,885-square-foot splash pad with outdoor shower and associated water play structure, a 1,562-square-foot restroom building, complete with corridor, storage, custodial room, family restroom, and pumping equipment; illuminated walkways; a parking lot with 25 spaces, equipped with three recharging points for electric vehicles; a picnic shelter, a multi-use grass mound, picnic tables and benches, recycling receptacles, a bike rack, a bottle/drinking fountain, and irrigated landscaping.

Park visitors enjoy sunrise to sunset and plenty of parking opportunities in its 30-space lot located at the east entrance. There are three bike racks and a bus stop in front of 183rd St.
