The population has gone out to vote without much encouragement, the votes have been few but constant. Rain has been a major factor in keeping voters from getting out. This has been the result of the first hours of the elections in Hialeah this November 2.
Hialeah has 109,000 voters, distributed in 38 precincts to elect the new mayor and three of the councilors.
The first results released by the Elections Department indicate that 10,200 residents of the municipality voted by mail and 4,500 did so through early voting, during the past week, as reported by Diario las Américas .
