This Tuesday, November 2, South Florida participated in municipal elections preceded by a low turnout in early voting and by mail, as well as poor turnout at the polls, culminating in results that many expected in this region of the country.

In Miami, Francis Suárez was re-elected as mayor, his triumph was expected and this happened with a vote that exceeded 21,000 votes, that is, more than 77% of the votes in favor. On the other hand, Joe Carollo secured his second term on the Miami City Commission, In Hialeah, Esteban Bovo will be the new mayor of this municipality for the next four, after receiving 59.02% of the votes counted.

In Miami Beach, Dan Gelber was also re-elected as mayor, with 7,936 votes in favor, that is, 62.22%.

And finally, by a margin of 58 votes in favor, Mayor Steve Losner was also re-elected in Homestead. The results published by the county electoral authority show that Losner obtained 1,693 suffrage and Elvis Maldonado, his political rival in the second electoral round, added 1,635, as reported by Diario las Américas
