Two brothers from Miami plan to enter the Guinness Book of Records after achieving a rather crazy and unusual feat, which consists of flying a plane with their eyes covered, as reported by WSVN.

The brothers undertook their feat from the Miami Executive Airport .

Where did the crazy idea come from?

Parth Panchal, one of the brothers, told WSVN that the idea for the blindfolded flight he plans to take with his brother on Sunday to earn a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records came from stories he heard as a child.

“I got this inspiration from the history of India, from the king named Prithviraj Chauhan,” he said. “He was able to aim and shoot an arrow while blindfolded, and I was amazed how a blindfolded person can accomplish such a task.”

How did they prepare for the feat?

After months of preparation, simulator training and research, Parth and his brother, flight instructor Vyom Panchal, are certain the feat is possible.

“Once we started with the simulators, day by day we got better ,” Vyom told WSVN. “We never had that thought in our minds that we should give up.”

What were your plans to perform the feat?

Parth comments that to achieve the feat his brother will give him verbal orders, but he is aware that he will not see anything and will not have a good sense of direction either. Attached to that the physical challenge is, of course, disorientation.

“When your eyes are covered, you keep them closed for a while and all the different movements happen on the plane,” Parth stated.

After constant hours of practice, the brothers developed a code that they use to accomplish the incredible feat.

Parth said Vyom gave the verbal commands while making sure not to touch any of the controls.

In the end, the brothers landed safely on the runway.

The brothers expect the record-breaking certification to arrive sometime next week.
