A low-pressure system in the North Atlantic acquired enough characteristics to be classified as a storm overnight on Saturday, which is why it was named Wanda, the last name on the official list for tropical systems in the Atlantic during 2021.

By Sunday morning, the system had 50 mph winds and was moving at 16 mph in an east-southeast direction. According to the information published by Primera Hora.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami indicated that subtropical storm Wanda was located near latitude 36.5 North, longitude 43.9 West and is moving east-southeast near 16 mph (26 km / h). A turn to the southeast at a slower ground speed is expected later today.

Meanwhile, a turn to the northeast or north is forecast on Tuesday, with maximum sustained winds near 50 mph (85 km / h) with stronger gusts. Slight strengthening is possible over the next several days, 40 mph winds spreading outward to 105 miles (165 km) from center.

It is worth mentioning that this is the second consecutive year in which the names of the official list of tropical storms in the Atlantic have been exhausted. Last year 30 storms formed, the highest number on record.
