Due to the criminal acts that have occurred in South Florida, they motivated the Miami-Dade police department to create a digital tool to solve these and other cases.
The mayor of Miami-Dade, Daniella Levine Cava, said when presenting the new tool “the new cards that contain a QR code will make it easier for our officers to distribute them to our community so that they can access the department’s website and help with any information”.
The cards and flyers with the QR codes will be able to circulate in stores or supermarkets, and the community is asked to familiarize themselves with them and not ignore them. They can use their phone to scan the QR code and access the Miami-Dede Police Department site with a list and various crimes that you can help solve anonymously.
Major George Aguiar, of the Miami-Dade police, explained how they expect this mechanism of outreach with the community to work. “What we are looking for is that this card falls into the hands of the person who has some information, some clue to help us close these cases,” said Aguiar.
