This Sunday the inhabitants of a Miami-Dade skyscraper protested because the elevators suddenly stopped working.
Residents of the Civic Towers Apartments, who are mostly seniors, indicated that several neighbors got stuck in the elevators over the weekend.
“We need help, that’s what we want,” said Darianne Diago, who is one of the residents of the skyscraper who also has other structural problems.
Inhabitants had to use the stairs on the weekend
Due to both elevators in the Civic Towers Apartments, the residents of the 200 apartments had to use the stairs, which resulted in a collapse.
“My grandmother is a cancer survivor. If I have to take her to the hospital, how am I going to take her down the stairs? ”Said other affected neighbors to Local10 journalists.

City of Miami firefighters were called to the building nearly half a dozen times over the weekend for medical emergencies, and they also had to climb the stairs.
The officers indicated that the authorities should inspect the building because many people were harmed by this situation that arose.
The trash has them burdened too
But in addition to the elevator issue, residents of the Civic Towers Apartments indicated that they also have other issues that need to be addressed.
They indicated that garbage collection is inconsistent, which is why rodents are roaming some apartments.
“I am more than upset,” said Beatriz Núñez Capote, whose 73-year-old mother lives in the building and indicated that the administrator has not dealt with solving the problems that afflict the inhabitants.
