Three months ago El Doral opened a restaurant called Casa Mariano, which has been a great sensation.

The establishment opened its doors in September 2021 and since its opening has generated a great impact, both for its location and concept.

“We are in Doral, but we are right next to the 826 and 836 freeways. So, if people have business in Coral Gables, it’s just a few minutes,” said general manager and sommelier Victor Tapia.

Tapia indicated that the Restaurant wants to show a cozy concept and make the diner feel at ease in all aspects.

“Actually, this is Chef Mariano’s house. This is the dining room. This is the living room and the wine library in the back,” Tapia explained.

Restaurant features a menu of South American and Mediterranean dishes.

The sommelier Victor Tapía, indicated that the gastronomy offered at Casa Mariano is very diverse, and for demanding palates.

Among the dishes offered is the Peruvian ceviche, which is prepared with a special technique applied by the chef of the establishment.

“I think we have one of the best ceviches in town, hands down,” Tapia said.

They also offer some black lentils and red quinoa with sundried tomatoes, chickpeas, spinach, feta cheese and lemon vinaigrette.

Dessert variety ranges from hazelnut tiramisu with mascarpone to pavlova with dulce de leche that can’t go under the table.

Satisfied diners

Although there was some skepticism about the restaurant at first, the reviews have been positive, in the short time.

“That’s amazing,” said Lisa Petrillo who is a regular diner at the place.

Another of the customers, who also showed her liking for what she saw at the restaurant, was Eva Santamaría, who spoke about the Ceviche that chef Víctor Tapia had talked about

“The lemon is the first thing that hits you but not too much,” Santamaría told CBS.
